About The TeacherMary Ann Clawson is married with three children and seven grandchildren. She loves her two dogs and all squirrels. She is a native Floridian but has resided for the past 24 years in Brunswick, Georgia, where she owned and operated Painted Planet School of Art. She has been an art teacher for 18 of those years .Her school art department was recognized as one of the top 10 art education departments in the state of Georgia in 2005. She won the art leadership award in 2005 and 2006 and national art honors. She also won the national leadership in the arts award. She is a seven-time, published poet and top 100 American poets. Her most proud accomplishment was writing and illustrating her children’s book Bonnie Squirrel Learns to Paint. And the illustration of The Tiny Mouse. Outside of her art career she's been blessed to be included in several movies, produced by Warner Brothers and Marvel films. And she's recognized by the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) for her roll as a police officer in an Amazon Plus series. She has also enjoyed event stage set and design, stage management, art history education, and fine art photography. She is excited to be at Mossman Hall to bring her love of the arts to this wonderful organization and the local community. Her goal in life is not only to show the importance and love of art but to bring out the natural gifts placed within each individual and encourage others to keep creating, to find the beauty we see everyday, and not take those things for granted.
